DISCUSSION ON SERIOUS GAME DESIGN FOR STUDYING TRADITIONAL RESIDENTIAL CULTURAL HERITAGE IN SOUTHWEST HUBEI
Exploring the impact of different game mechanisms on learning efficiency and player experience in serious games related to cultural heritage provides theoretical reference for the design and application of such serious games.By applying G.Calleja's engagement model and Mihaly's flow theory to analyze the process of game engagement, this study uses the serious game"The Journey of Shemihu Construction"developed based on the traditional construction skills of Ouxi Southwest to further discuss the key points of synergistic design between cultural heritage learning and game mechanisms.Developing a serious game design framework for cultural heritage. In the design of serious games in cultural heritage,it is crucial to establish learning objectives and select primary game mechanisms.Subsequently, secondary participation mechanisms and visual effects should be determined based on the target users. Finally, adjusting the placement of learning materials based on user feedback and flow theory is essential to achieve a sustained and effective engagement state.
