Pollution Characteristics and Assessment of Heavy Metals and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Brownfield Site of Chemical Plastics Factory
Taking the brownfield site of a chemical plastics factory in Liaoning Province as the research object, the pollution characteristics of heavy metals and PAHs in the soil at a depth of 0~14.0 m were analyzed. The single-factor index method and the Nemero comprehensive pollution index method were used to evaluate the level of heavy metal pollution, and the quality benchmark method was used to evaluate the ecological risk of PAHs.The results show that Pb is mainly distributed in the 0~2.0 m layer soil, and As is widely distributed in all soil depths, and the five high molecular weight PAHs(BaP,BaA,BbF,InP,and DahA)migrates to the deep soil. The single factor index and the Nemerow comprehensive pollution index show that Pb and As are severely polluted in each layer of soil, and the pollution distribution characteristics are highly correlated with the spatial location of the production workshop. The evaluation of the quality benchmark method shows that the northeast and southwest of the site are no ecological risk or low ecological risk areas, and the high-impact workshop, polymerization workshop and surrounding areas are medium to high ecological risk areas.
