Effect of fiber morgphdogy of electrostatic spinning PU film on hydrophilic modification by oxygen plasma
Polyurethane(PU)membranes with different fiber morphology are prepared by electrospun technology, then the influence of fiber morphology on the surface wettability of oxygen plasma-treated PU membrane is analyzed, and the oil-water separation performance of the membrane is also investigated. The results show that oxygen plasma treatment doesnot alter the original fiber morphology or surface elemental composition of electrospun PU membrane, but it grafts—OH groups onto the surface of the membrane, then the hydrophobic electrospun PU membrane becomes hydrophilic(22.6°)and underwater oleophobic(155.9°).Additionally,the smaller the fiber diameter and the more obvious the unevenness of the fiber thickness, the better the hydrophilicity and underwater oleophobicity of the plasma-treated PU membrane. When the membrane is used for oil-water separation, the efficiency of the membranes with different fiber morphology is greater than 99.5%.Furthermore,the fiber diameter and unevenness of the fiber thickness affect the pore size and porosity of the membrane and cause the change in the water flux for oil-water separation.
