Effect of warp knitting process on hairiness and twist of cotton yarn
On a high-speed warp knitting machine, compact spun cotton yarns of 11.6,9.7 and 7.6 tex are used for knitting with warp feeding, padding, and looping.By changing the knitting texture, samples are taken from the disc head, dividing reed, guide needle, and looping parts of the warp knitting machine to test the yarn twist and hairiness, and to analyze and study the microstructure of the yarn neps.Experimental tests show that when the direction of the loop motion is consistent with the twist of the yarn, the twist increases.Conversely, the twist decreases, and the greater the twist, the more significant the change. For the same type of cotton yarn with different texture, the larger the number of lateral needles and the greater the tension, the less affected on cotton yarn by friction, and the smaller the magnitude of increase and decrease in hairiness; The looping position is the main influencing factor for changes in twist and hairiness, and it is also the main location for the formation of cotton neps.
