Flame retardant finish of polyester/cotton blended fabric with adenosine monophosphate
A preliminary exploration of the feasibility of flame retardant finishing on polyester/cotton blended fabrics with different proportions by photografting adenosine monophosphate monomer(AMP-m-GMA)is discussed. The chemical structure, thermal properties and surface morphology of polyester, cotton and polyester fabrics before and after flame retardant finish are characterized and analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The combustion properties and physical and mechanical properties of fabrics before and after flame retardant arealso tested.Compared with polyester fiber, the graft and crosslinking of AMP-m-GMA flame retardant monomer occur more on the surface of cotton fiber, and the flame retardant property of polyester/cotton blended fabric with high cotton fiber content is easier to be improved.
