Preparation of TiO2/ZnO co-modified polypropylene fiber and its UV resistance
Surface modification of polypropylene(PP)fiber is carried out with a composite system of TiO2 and ZnO nanoparticles to improve their UV aging resistance. The UV absorption performance and particle size of sol systems with different TiO2/ZnO ratios are compared, the most suitable ratio system is selected, and the UV aging resistance of nano TiO2/ZnO modified fibers before and after UV irradiation is explored. The results show that the composite system of TiO2/ZnO nanoparticles are successfully coated on the surface of PP fibers, forming a complete and uniform alloy film structure. When the Ti:Zn molar ratio is 1:3,after 60 h of continuous UV irradiation, the strength loss rate of PP fibers decrease from 35.9%to 11.3%,indicating a significant improvement in UV aging resistance.
