Pretreatment and dyeing properties of chitosan/cotton blended fiber
Chitosan/cotton blended yarn is an excellent environmentally friendly antibacterial material, but there is a significant loss of chitosan during the dyeing process, affecting its wearability. The effects of sodium hydroxide dosage, temperature, time and hydrogen peroxide dosage on the chitosan content, yam breaking strength, whiteness and capillary effect of chitosan/cotton blended yarn are discussed by orthogonal experimental method,as well as the effect of chitosan/cotton blended yarn dyeing with direct and reactive dyes on the chitosan content and color fastness. The optimum pre-treatment process is determined as pretreating at 80 ℃ for 50 min with 1.5 g/L sodium hydroxide and 4 g/L hydrogen peroxide. After pretreatment, the chitosan content in the blended yarn is 17.36%,the yarn breaking strength is 218.83 cN,the whiteness is 64.9%,and the capillary effect is 16.2 cm.Reactive dyes are suitable for dyeing in light color, when dyeing in medium to dark colors(>0.5 omf),chitosan content decreases significantly.Direct dyes are suitable for dyeing in medium to dark color, and chitosan content and color fastness after fixation meet the quality requirements.
