To expand the application space of starch,the effects of esterification treatment and irradiation treatment on the structure of starch and its slurry properties are studied.High energy electron beam irradiationis used as a physical modification method to irradiate starch,and vinyl acetate is used as an esterifying agent to esterify starch.The preparation process of acetate starch is optimized,and the optimum process conditions are determined:the amount of esterifying agent is 30%,and reaction at 40 ℃ for 1.5 hours with pH value of 9.And under this condition,the infrared spectrum,contact angle,and slurry performance are analyzed.The results show that irradiation treatment does not introduce new functional groups,the successful introduction of acetyl groups in esterification treatment significantly increases the contact angle,and the starch changes from hydrophilic to hydrophobic,with a contact angle of 107.2°.The viscosity of irradiated acetate starch decreases significantly,and the viscosity stability is significantly improved.
