Preparation of weft knitted spacer fabric and analysis of factors affecting its thickness
To explore the structural designability of weft knitted spacer fabrics used as cushioning materials,7 types of spacer fabrics are designed and samples are prepared on a computerized flat knitting machine by continuously adjusting the machine parameters. The influence of design variables such as spacing method, monofilament diameter, and yarn configuration on the thickness of spacing fabrics is analyzed.By simplifying the simulation diagram of the cross-section of the interlayer,a structural model of a single filament inclined state is established, and the relationship between weaving parameters and the thickness of the interval fabric is obtained. On this basis, suitable adjustment plans can be designed according to the thickness range of the spacing fabric in actual production. The results indicate that when the surface yarn is elastic,it has a positive impact on the thickness of the spacer wire.Within a certain range,an increase in the spacing and diameter of the spacer wire can make the fabric have a greater thickness.
