Synthesis of new nitrogen-phosphorus containing flame retardant and flame-retardant finishing of cotton fabric
A novel phosphorus/nitrogen flame retardant is used for flame-retardant finishing of cotton fabrics by padding-drying-curing process. The cotton fabrics before and after finishing process are characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, limiting oxygen index test, vertical burning test, thermogravimetric analyze, scanning electric morphology analyze and physical properties test. The test results show that the flame retardancy and thermal stability of the finished cotton fabrics are greatly improved. When the flame retardant is 300 g/L,the limiting oxygen index of the finished cotton fabrics can reach 33.4%,with shorter damaged length,no after-flame time and after-glow time. The residual carbon content is significantly increased, and the heat resistance and stability performance is improved; After flame retardant modification, the surface morphology of cotton fabric is unchanged, and the breaking strength remains good, with a slight decrease in whiteness.
