Can the Openness Characteristics of Multinational Corporate CEOs Promote Enterprise Innovation?
The paper takes the A-share listed multinational enterprises in Shanghai and Shenzhen during 2010-2021 as the research object,selects characteristics such as age,tenure and education background to construct an index of openness characteristics of CEO of multinational corporations,and analyzes the rela-tionship between CEO openness characteristics and corporate innovation from the perspectives of both in-novation input and output.Moreover,financing constraints and redundant resources are introduced as moderating variables to explore the moderating effect between them.Through empirical analysis,this the-sis finds that the open characteristics of CEO of multinational companies have a significant positive impact on innovation input and output.Financing constraints play a negative moderating role in the relationship between CEO openness and innovation input.The moderating effect of different nature of redundant re-sources is different.Precipitated redundant resources play a negative moderating role in the relationship between CEO characteristics and innovation input and output of multinational enterprises.However,non-precipitated redundant resources play a positive moderating role in the relationship between CEO character-istics and innovation input of multinational firms.
