The Creative Transformation and Innovative Development of the Book of Changes:Based on Yang Jian's Yi Learning
According to the"Three Sages of Changes",the generation of the Book of Changes began with Fuxi's drawing of the hexagrams.Later,King Wen of Zhou creatively transformed and innovatively devel-oped(abbreviated as:"Two Creations")it into sixty-four hexagrams.After that,Confucius wrote com-mentaries for it,realizing the discursive transformation of the Book of Changes from an ancient divination book to the elaboration of virtue.Both King Wen of Zhou and Confucius respectively achieved the"Two Creations"of the Book of Changes.The creative transformation of the Book of Changes in this article is manifested as follows:Based on Yang Jian's"Tao is One",the wisdom contained in the Book of Changes is presented using an extremely simple mathematical equation,realizing the scientific context transformation of the Book of Changes.The innovative development of the Book of Changes is manifested as follows:Dif-ferent phases are developed for the formless"One"of the principle and righteousness.This equation ex-presses the abstruse and formless,the formed,and the principles and righteousness among the phases in a simple and clear way using mathematical language.This equation encompasses Taiji,Two Modes,Three Powers,Four Images,Five Phases,Eight Trigrams,Sixty-Four Hexagrams,and even infinite things all at the same time in one equation,expanding the generation principle of the Book of Changes by Confucius.It is profound and simple.On the one hand,this mathematical equation encompasses and explains the prin-ciples and righteousness of the Book of Changes.On the other hand,in reverse,the internal mechanism of the equation set helps to understand and grasp the mystery of the Book of Changes.This equation is like a corrector,having the functions of being systematic,comprehensive,simple,clear,error-correcting,and rectifying the source.
