Differences in the Content of Geniposide and Inorganic Elements in Fructus Gardeniae from Different Producing Areas and the Safety Evaluation
To explore the internal relationship between the distribution of geniposide and inorganic elements in Fruc-tus Gardeniaes from different producing areas and the quality of medicinal materials, and to provide basic data for the quality and safety evaluation and resource development and utilization of Fructus Gardeniae, microwave digestion induc-tively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, microwave digestion inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy, and high performance liquid chromatography were used to determine the content of geniposide and inorganic elements in Fructus Gardeniaes from 7 different regions. The results showed that the content of geniposide in Fructus Gardeniaes met the re-quirements of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.Fructus Gardeniae was rich in inorganic elements, heavy metals and the harm-ful elements did not exceed the limits of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The single factor pollution index method and Nemero comprehensive pollution index method were used to evaluate the safety risk of heavy metals in Fructus Gardeniaes, and the results showed that the content of heavy metals was safe.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the internal relationship between geniposide and inorganic element content. The results showed that geniposide was positively correlat-ed with Fe,Al,Be and V,and inorganic elements may have a synergistic effect on the accumulation of geniposide. The t-test analysis showed that the inorganic elements with significant differences between Fructus Gardeniaes from Jiangxi and other producing areas were Mg,Be and Sb.
