Preparation of Small-sized Green Silver Nanoparticles Using Carboxymethyl Chitosan
The green method for synthesizing silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)from carboxymethyl chitosan, chloride ions, and sunlight was improved. The effect of chloride ion concentration on the preparation of small-sized AgNPs and the an-tibacterial effect of the obtained AgNPs on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were studied. The results show that controlling the concentration of chloride ions in the reaction solution between 0.2-0.8 mmol/L,the AgNPs of less than 10 nm can be obtained. At a chloride concentration of 0.2 mmol/L,Staphylococcus aureus was more sensitive to the prepared AgNPs than Escherichia coli.By adjusting the chloride ion concentration of the reaction system, small particle size green AgNPs can be prepared using only carboxymethyl chitosan, chloride ions and sunlight. The prepared nanoparticles have better antibacterial effects against Gram positive bacteria. In practical applications, suitable preparation conditions can be selected based on the treatment object and drug dosage form.
