Study on the Organization and Mechanical Properties of Cu4CoCrFeNi(VC)x Multi-principal Element Alloys
The Cu4CoCrFeNi(VC)x(x=0.02,0.04,0.06,0.08)multi-principal element alloys were prepared by a com-bination of powder metallurgy and electric arc furnace melting methods. The effect of vanadium carbide(VC)on the orga-nization and mechanical properties of Cu4CoCrFeNi(VC)x multi-principal element alloys was investigated. It was found that the increase of VC content leaded to the phenomenon of segregation in the alloy, which was mainly the enrichment of Cr element with VC.With the increase of VC content, the enrichment became more and more obvious. In the tensile mechan-ical property tests,it was found that the Cr and VC enriched regions produced cracks and fissures during tensile stretch-ing,affecting the toughness of the alloy. The yield and tensile strengths as well as the Vickers hardness of the alloy gradu-ally increased with the increase in VC content.
