Preparation of Cellulose Nanocrystals/Polyvinyl Alcohol Aerogel and Its Static Adsorption Performance of Hexavalent Chromium
Cellulose nanocrystals/polyvinyl alcohol(CNC/PVA)aerogels with different ratios were successfully pre-pared by directional freeze-drying and solid-phase cross-linking methods. As the CNC content increased, the aerogel density decreased significantly. The compressive performance test results showed that aerogel possessed higher compres-sive strength in the orientation direction. The results of scanning electron microscopy showed that the 50%CNC/PVA aerogel had a lamellar orientation structure and a microvillous structure. The results of static adsorption experiments showed that the 50%CNC/PVA aerogel had excellent adsorption capacity for Cr(Ⅵ)ions. When the concentration of Cr(Ⅵ)was 180 mg/L,the maximum adsorption capacity could reach 40.79 mg/g.
