Self-certification of origin is gradually emerging around the world because of its conven-ience.Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership(CPTPP)is a typical high-standard economic and trade agreement that includes detailed provisions on self-certification of ori-gin.The implementation of these articles varies among the CPTPP's members.Some such as Japan and Canada put them in place quickly and comprehensively,while others like Vietnam,Malaysia,and Brunei have not yet fully implemented the relevant regulations in accordance with other arrangements stipulated in the agreement.Since 2008,when introducing declaration of origin in its FTA with New Zealand,China has gradually established and improved the system.As of now,China has implemented self-certification of origin mainly through declaration of origin issued by enterprises under related FTA.A research on the implementation of CPTPP's articles about self-certification of origin,combined with an analysis of China's self-declaration system for origin,reveals several key insights.
