Serious Leisure and Ethical Commitment:A Sustainable Mechanism for Rural Cultural Volunteer Service Behavior
Rural cultural volunteer services are an important component of the rural public cultural service system and an important lever for achieving rural cultural revitalization. However, there is a prominent dilemma of insufficient sustainability of volunteer services.Based on the"serious leisure perspective"from Stebbins, this study starts from the subjective perceptions of rural cultural volunteers and finds that this group combines the creative pursuit of their art enthusiasts with volunteer roles, presenting typical"serious leisure"characteristics, and even regards volunteer service as a valuable career experience, demonstrating typical professional spirit. The ethical-oriented organizational and community environment in rural China encourages volunteers to make a dual commitment to their respective organizations and communities, resulting in an attractive experience account surplus. This further triggers the service motivation of rural cultural volunteers, forming a logical loop of"motivation-achievement"and promoting the sustainability of volunteer services.
