Research on Family Care for Cognitive Disorder Patients from the Perspective of Stress Coping:Theoretical Framework,Conceptual Discernment, and Future Prospects
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the issue of family care for cognitive disorders has become increasingly urgent due to the accelerated process of the aging population and the rising number of cognitive disorder patients. This poses a significant threat to the quality of life of older adults with cognitive disorder and their families.Family care,as the primary caregiving model in China, brings about various challenges for caregivers during long-term care. However, academic research on this issue still has room for improvement in terms of the explanatory power and conceptual clarification.By integrating the theoretical context of stress coping paradigm and clarifying similar concepts, this paper puts forward the future research directions for stress coping in family care of older adults with cognitive disorder, which include developing a localized theoretical framework, enhancing the accuracy of measuring stress-related outcomes, and dynamically capturing changes in stress coping strategies.Additionally, this paper highlights the significance of social support and security systems for cognitive disorder patients and their family caregivers, and emphasizes the need for exploration in areas such as public policy, social services, and public education.
