Space Embedding and Reconstruction:The Strategy and Logic of Social Work Participation in the Reproduction of Rural Public Space
The key to rural revitalization lies in the realization of the multiple values of the countryside as a regional space. However, the reorganization of rural space in the process of urban-rural transformation has resulted in the mismatch of rural resources, the imbalance of relations and the disfunction of culture,as well as the spatial justice problems derived from it,which restrict the process of rural governance.Based on the theory of social space, this paper constructs an analytical framework of spatial embeddedness of social work governance, and finds that social work takes space as the object and support of governance, and promotes the reproduction of rural material, social, and cultural space through the practical process of resource reorganization, relationship reconstruction, and cultural remodeling,in order to create material space image, cultivate social space representation and conserve cultural space potential energy. In practice, social work takes spatial justice as its value concept, spatial analysis as its tool, and spatial empowerment as its technical method to activate the vitality of spatial subjects, integrate spatial production factors, promote spatial cooperative production, promote the reconstruction of rural public space, and realize the spatial embedding of governance.Compared with other subjects, social work shows its unique professional advantages in the reproduction of rural public space, such as cultural practice ability, resource integration ability and emotional production ability.
