The safety of ship anchoring in an anchorage is drawing more and more attention, while all kinds of models represented by the maximum hole degree first algorithm aim to maximize the capacity of the anchorage, and lack the consideration of the anchorage safety. Therefore,a new anchor position allocation model with exclusive safety channels in the anchorage is proposed. The model consists of three parts:anchorage circles, anchorage blocks and exclusive safety channels. It can balance the anchorage safety and the utilization as much as possible. The anchorage is divided into several blocks by exclusive safety channels, the width of each block is determined by the ship length classification algorithm, and the width of the channel between adjacent blocks is determined by the exclusive safety channel width algorithm. The model is applied to Dagukou north anchorage. The experimental results show that, the model can not only provide an anchor position allocation scheme that balances the anchorage safety and the utilization, but also meet the demand of autonomous navigation ships for automatic anchoring in the future.
