Modernization of education governance is an important part of modernizing education and an important way to build a strong education system.An analysis of educational governance in China showed that its connotations include two key dimensions:the overall development of people as the purpose of educational governance,and the modernization of the educational governance system and of governance ability.Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,significant achievements have been made in the modernization of education governance.These include the establishment of a diverse governance system with a stronger socialist democracy as the governing body,the implementation of the rule of law as the basis of governance with the gradual improvement of the legal system,the adoption of scientific governance methods in accordance with the laws of education development,the balanced governance of rights and responsibilities through the reform of the administrative system,and the steady improvement of various education indices as governance results.The practical path to the modernization of education governance should adhere to the principle of"putting people at the center";emphasize the fairness and democracy of governance;establish a coordinated governance system among the government,schools,society,and families;form a scientifically complete institutional mechanism through institutional design and innovation;and build a cooperative network system for governance organizations by applying the governance toolkit.
