China's grassroots governance system is improving,and grassroots governance capabilities are continuously strengthening and thus providing solid support for the coordinated promotion of economic and social development.In 2023,grassroots social governance research achieved rich results.From the perspectives of research focus,emerging research fields,and research hotspots,an analysis of grassroots social governance research content revealed the modernization of grassroots social governance propelled by Party building and the"Fengqiao Experience"as key areas,digital social governance as an emerging research field,and social organizations,family governance,and collaborative governance as demonstrative of the richness of grassroots social governance,which has made them popular governance research topics.Furthermore,this study found that grassroots social governance has made significant progress in knowledge system construction,institutional building,and practical innovation.Such progress has opened a localized evolutionary path for grassroots governance in China,and this localized evolution provides new governance experiences for Chinese modernization.
