This article studies a mercury cleaning agent composed of dialkyl dithiophosphinate and ethanol. The cleaning agent utilizes dialkyl dithiophosphinate to form a coordination compound with mercury, and ethanol is used as the solvent system.Under the action of solvent and coordination compound, large mercury beads can be transformed into fine coordination compound particles, which are dispersed in ethanol.Without stirring, the mercury deposited on the wall can be peeled off.The cleaning of mercury deposited on the inner wall of the equipment can be achieved. The mercury containing coordination compound in this process is separated from the cleaning agent through simple filtration. The mercury cleaning agent can be recycled, and the mercury containing substances can be treated as solid waste. Moreover, the cleaning agent used does not corrode the equipment, making it a green mercury cleaning agent.Various factors affecting the effectiveness of washing mercury were studied, and the optimal washing mercury process was obtained:2%concentration,neutral or weakly alkaline, room temperature treatment, and flooding soaking for no less than 6 hours.
