Compatibility analysis of hydraulic oscillator and rotary steerable system
Extended reach wells can achieve the goal of encountering multiple sets of sand bodies, increasing the contact area between the wellbore and the reservoir, and have achieved significant application effects in oil and gas field drilling. The separate application of hydraulic oscillators and rotary steerable systems in large displacement wells can improve drilling efficiency and directional control capabilities, but the compatibility of using both tools simultaneously has not been analyzed and verified. This article analyzes the compatibility advantages of using a hydraulic oscillator in conjunction with a rotary steerable system based on the principle characteristics, structural types, and application situations of hydraulic oscillators and rotary steerable systems, and provides on-site application cases to prove their effectiveness. The research results indicate that the combination of the two tools can combine their advantages, eliminate the problem of using them alone, and achieve higher drilling efficiency with more stable low-level drilling parameters. The research results of this article provide a reference basis for the use of on-site hydraulic oscillators in conjunction with rotary steerable systems, and support the speed and efficiency improvement technology for drilling large displacement wells.
