Research progress on rotary steering drilling system and its control methods
Rotary directional drilling technology is a new type of wellbore structure that can be used for completion operations,horizontal wells,and highly deviated wells to achieve downhole directional and directional functions.The rotary steering system is the core of rotary steering drilling technology,and the development of its control technology is directly related to the success or failure of the entire drilling project.This article introduces the basic structure and working principle of rotary steering drilling systems,analyzes in detail the research progress of control system control strategies based on different types of control methods,and points out the problems and shortcomings in the practical application of rotary steering drilling system control technology.It also proposes the future development direction of rotary steering technology in China:improving the existing push-pull and directional systems,and carrying out ground monitoring of hybrid rotary steering systems,Build bidirectional communication and measurement while drilling subsystems,etc.
