Analysis of Method for Reservoir Steering and Well Anticollision in a Redevelopment Reservoir
In a sandstone bottom-water resevoir, the main challenges to affect its redevelopment efficiency are identified reservoir heterogeneity, structural dip uncertainty, fluid distribution uncertainty and the possible anticollision risks from the horizontal boreholes in two development phases. The key for a successful redevelopment campaign is the quantitative characterization of a thick reservoir. Here,an integrated optimization method is proposed based on GeoSphere ultradeep reservoir mapping service while drilling, and then carried out.In the real cases:(1)GeoSphere inversion profile revealed vertically up to four key boundaries and five layers around borehole,The dynamic OWC is identified as tilted and the remaining oil columns are higher than 12m;(2)Quantitative reservoir steering based on this integrated method guaranteed an engineering safety and an actual well performance about 30%higher than the prediction. Finally,it is clearly validated that this integrated optimization method not only could effectively avoid the redevelopment risks, but also could achieve a quantitative reservoir steering in a deeply developed reservoir.
