Cathodic protection technology for single well gathering and transportation steel pipelines in oil and gas fields
The external anti-corrosion measures for buried single well steel pipelines in oil and gas fields usually only use an external anti-corrosion layer. There is no mandatory requirement for cathodic protection in the national standard. However, for areas with strong soil corrosiveness, using only an external anti-corrosion layer is not sufficient to protect the pipeline, and cathodic protection technology is needed to protect the pipeline. The selection of cathodic protection methods requires consideration of both the economic viability of the project and the complex buried pipeline network and single well layout of oil and gas fields. This article analyzes various issues in the application of cathodic protection technology for single well pipelines and determines the principles for selecting cathodic protection methods for single well pipelines.
