Tectonic interpretation and structural characteristics analysis of the Papua foreland thrust belt
The seismic data quality in the Papua Fold Belt is poor, and the deformation mechanism is unclear. The uncertainty in seismic interpretation models leads to strong multi-interpretative nature. Moreover, there are significant differences in deformation characteristics and hydrocarbon distribution across different structural zones. This paper employs sandbox simulation experiments to clarify structural interpretation models, uses axial plane analysis for seismic structural interpretation, and conducts balanced profile restoration to validate the interpretation results. Finally, the structural features of the fold belt are clarified through structural interpretation, identifying favorable structural areas.
