Tensioner can counteract the platform heave motion and provide constant lifting force for the equipment in the semi-submersible platform.There are mainly two types of tensioners on the platform:wire rope type and cylinder type.This paper mainly analyzes the layout form and application example of tensioning device in platform drlling in south sea,and puts forward the matters needing attention in the layout and design of wire rope type tensioning device.
