Numerical Simulation Study and Parameter Optimization of Water-Based Drilling Cuttings Separation by Centrifuge
To analyze the transport mechanism of solid particles in water-based drilling cuttings within a centrifuge and to study the effects of key parameters of the centrifuge on processing capacity and separation efficiency, this paper uses FLUENT for numerical simulation. The results show that the larger the particle size, the higher the separation efficiency of the centrifuge. The centrifuge performs best when processing 200 μm solid particles. The optimal screen size is 0.50mm,centrifuge speed differential is 7~10 r/min,and mud density range is 1840~1920 kg/m3.
