The influence and prevention of coal mine fault structure on roof stability
In order to avoid coal seam roof accidents and ensure safe mining in coal mines.Based on a typical fault developed coal mine case in central Shanxi Province, the influence of fault structures on roof stability was analyzed through field geological surveys, rock mechanics tests, and numerical simulations.Research has found that fault dip and drop are key factors affecting roof stability. When the fault dip exceeds 65 °,the risk of roof instability significantly increases; For every 1m increase in fault drop, the maximum stress concentration factor of the roof increases by an average of 0.15.In response to the research findings, preventive measures such as optimizing support parameters, pre reinforcement optimization, and establishing monitoring and warning systems were proposed. After the implementation of these measures,no serious roof instability events occurred in the study area, and the preventive measures were effective.
