In situ diffuse reflectance mid infrared spectroscopy was used to study the impurity structure of sodium hydroxide.It is found that sodium hydroxide contains a small amount of sodium carbonate and water.The main infrared absorption modes of sodium carbonate molecules include:C=O groupstretching vibration mode(vC=O-Na2CO3)and CO3groupin-plane bending vibration mode(βCO3-Na2CO)eombined frequency peak(vC=O-Na2CO+βCO3-Na2CO3),C=O groupstretching vibration mode(vC=O-Na2CO),CO3 groupasymmetric stretching vibration mode(vasCO,-Na2CO3),CO3 groupsymmetric stretching vibration mode(vsCO3-Na2CO3),CO3 group out of plane bending vibration mode(rCO3-Na2CO3)and CO3 group in plane bending vibration mode(βCO3-Na2CO,).The main infrared absorption modes of water molecules include:OH groupstretching vibration mode(vOH-H2O).In situ diffuse reflectance mid infrared spectroscopy has important application research value in the analysis of sodium hydroxide impurities.
