西部智慧城市发展对区域碳排放的异质性影响——基于38个地级市的面板数据

摘要
绿色低碳发展是实现碳达峰目标以及碳中和愿景的基础支撑.智慧城市作为一种新型城市发展模式,对城市低碳发展具有重要意义.基于2014-2021年38个西部城市的面板数据,通过双向固定效应模型考察了智慧城市发展对碳减排效应的影响及其异质性分析.研究结果表明,智慧城市发展能够显著降低西部地区的碳排放总量,并通过了一系列的稳健性检验.异质性实证结果表明,西北地区智慧城市发展产生的碳减排效应比西南地区更加明显;大城市能够显著抑制碳排放总量;智慧城市发展在经济活动水平和基础设施水平发展较高的地区能够显著降低碳排放总量;智慧城市发展对于非资源型城市和非老工业基地城市的碳排放抑制作用更加显著.
Abstract
Green and low carbon development is the basic support for realizing the goal of carbon peaking as well as the vision of carbon neutrality.As a new type of urban development model,smart cities are of great sig-nificance to urban low carbon development.Based on the panel data of 38 western cities from 2014 to 2021,the impact of smart city development on carbon emission reduction effect and its heterogeneity analysis were investigated by two-way fixed effect model.The results show that smart city development can significantly re-duce the total carbon emissions in the western region and pass a series of robustness tests.Empirical hetero-geneity analysis reveals that the carbon emission reduction effects are more pronounced in Northwest regions compared to Southwest regions.Large cities can significantly inhibit the total carbon emissions.Smart city de-velopment can significantly reduce the total carbon emissions in the regions with higher levels of economic ac-tivities and infrastructure development.Furthermore,smart city development has a more significant inhibition of carbon emissions in non-resource-based cities and non-old industrial base cities.
