The Impact of Cross-Border E-Commerce on China's Economic Growth-Empirical Analysis Based on Provincial Panel Data
As a new trade mode,cross-border e-commerce significantly improves the traditional trade mode,stimulate the vitality of the domestic market,expand the domestic market demand,and at the same time inject new vitality to promote China's economic growth.Adopting China's provincial panel data from 2012 to 2021,the impact effect of cross-border e-commerce on China's economic growth is investigated by constructing cross-border e-commerce indicator system,and the threshold effect model is also used to investigate whether there is a nonlinear relationship between cross-border e-commerce turnover on China's economic growth.The results of the study show that cross-border e-commerce has a significant promotion effect on China's econom-ic growth when doing the benchmark regression.The promotion effect still exists when considering the control variables.Dividing cross-border e-commerce into the three dimensions of industry development,transporta-tion logistics,and policy management,the impact on China's economic growth is studied separately,and the results show that all of them have a significant positive impact.In the panel threshold effect regression found that cross-border e-commerce turnover on China's economic growth,there is a single threshold effect,more than the threshold value of the impact coefficient becomes larger,indicating that cross-border e-commerce turnover on China's economic growth there is a marginal utility incremental impact.Relevant suggestions for improving the development of cross-border e-commerce are put forward from the four aspects of increasing the establishment of comprehensive pilot zones for cross-border e-commerce,advancing the construction of cross-border e-commerce infrastructure,advancing the training of cross-border e-commerce technical tal-ents,and upgrading the level of Internet informationization.
