Research on the Support Mechanism for Primary and Secondary School Teachers'Professional Development in Macao
The evaluation of teachers'working performance refers to a comprehensive assessment of their working behavior or performance. For a long time,it has faced issues such as an overemphasis on rewards and penalties, excessive administrative influence on evaluation mechanisms, inadequacies in evaluation support systems, and insufficient autonomy for those being evaluated, which have hindered the developmental function of the evaluation to some extent. This paper, through a study of the basic education policies in Macao over the 25 years since its return to motherland, comprehensively reviews and presents the fundamental ideas, key measures, and operational methods of primary and secondary school teacher evaluation reform in Macao.Furthermore,it summarizes the experience of Macao in building a support mechanism based on working performance evaluation, and explores its important inspirations for deepening the teacher evaluation reform nationwide.
