基于大语言模型的大学英语四六级翻译试题中的中国文化叙事研究

摘要
基于大语言模型ChatGPT-4o分析大学英语四六级翻译试题语料库(2013-2022),考察试题文本中的中国文化叙事,发现翻译试题文本呈现出三种文化,以传统文化为主,辅以一定量的现代文化,而革命文化比例极低;采用今昔对比、典型举例、宏大叙事和话语交叠四种叙事策略,其中宏观叙事统领其他三种策略;表现出了非常积极的情感态度,但对当代中国的突出问题并未回避.整体而言,四六级翻译试题文本呈现了贴近现实的中国,体现了文化自信,起到了立德树人的作用,但在呈现的文化类型比例和叙事策略上仍可进一步优化,也需要大学英语教材和课堂教学同频共振,以促成外语教育从教学到测试的全过程中国文化输入,全面培养学生的家国情怀、国际视野,有效提升学生用英语讲好中国故事、传播中国文化的能力.
Abstract
Based on the corpus of College English Test(CET)translation questions spanning the years from 2013 to 2022,this paper examines the presentation of Chinese culture in the test texts drawing on the large language model ChatGPT-4o.It is found that there are three distinct cultural types—traditional culture,modern culture,and revolutionary culture,and four narrative strategies—past-present contrast,typical exemplification,grand narration,and overlapping discourses.There is also room for adjustments in terms of the proportion of cultural types presented and potential improvements in the employed narrative strategies.
