On Xi Jinping's Inheritance and Development of Mao Zedong's Viewpoints of Traditional Culture
Mao Zedong attached great importance to traditional Chinese culture and formed his Viewpoints of Traditional Culture with distinctive features in his great practice of leading the Chinese revolution and construction.In accor-dance with the requirements of theory and practice in the new era,Xi Jinping has inherited Mao's Viewpoints of Traditional Culture on attaching importance to the history of the nation,focusing on the culture of the nation,inter-preting and applying Marxism in the light of the Chinese characteristics as well as absorbing the essence and elimi-nating the dregs.On this basis,Xi Jinping has deepened his understanding of the status and value of Chinese out-standing traditional culture and creatively put forward a systematic strategic plan for the promotion of Chinese out-standing traditional culture in six aspects.Xi's inheritance and development of Mao Zedong's view of traditional culture provides strong theoretical guidance for further enhancing the cultural self-confidence of the Chinese nation,promoting the combination of Chinese excellent traditional culture and the basic principles of Marxism,building a new form of human civilisation and constructing a modern civilisation for the Chinese nation,and enhancing China's cultural soft power.
