Lithium plating detection of multi-type batteries based on stress signals
In order to solve the problems of low accuracy and poor real-time performance in the traditional lithium plating detection methods, the stress signal was introduced to study the mechanical characteristics of the battery in the lithium plating process, and qualitative and quantitative researches were carried out from the perspectives of mechanism experiment and simulation. The relaxation of voltage signal was used to determine the lithium plating threshold of the battery.A coupled mechanical-electrochemical model of the battery was developed using COMSOL Multiphysics to explain the feasibility of the method from the mechanistic level.Eventually, through the stress on the capacity of the differential real-time detection and compared with the experimental calibration of the lithium plating threshold to determine whether the battery induce lithium plating in the charging process, this indicator can be realized for real-time and nondestructive lithium plating detection of the battery. The study provided a new idea for the battery lithium plating detection.
