Analysis and Evaluation of Stray Current Interference on Gas Pipelines near Subway
Based on monitoring examples of high pressure gas pipelines crossing two subway lines in Guicheng area,Foshan,Guangdong. The interference rule on pipelines and the flow path of stray current under the crossing condition of subway and steel gas pipelines are studied. The datum of on-going potential,off-going potential and sacrificial anodes current are continuously monitored by wireless remote data recorder, and the average consumption rate of sacrificial anodes current of three measuring points in the pipeline is 4.75 kg/a,2.25 kg/a and 1.93 kg/a under the dynamic interference of stray current by Faraday's laws.At the same time, the transient and instantaneous flow of stray current in the pipeline is further analyzed,so as to determine the main interference source of stray current and provide the basis for protection measures to alleviate the interference on pipelines in the next step.
