Overview of Advanced Oxidation Technology for Treating Organic Wastewater
In the production process of pesticides, coatings and other fine chemical enterprises,a large amount of toxic and undegradable organic pollutants are easily generated. How to deal with wastewater to meet the discharge standards is a problem which chemical industry must solve.Advanced oxidation technology(AOPs)is one of the most promising methods for treating undegradable organic wastewater. The principle of AOPs is to continuously input external energy(such as light and electricity)and substances(such as O3 and H2O2,etc.)to generate highly oxidizing hydroxyl radicals(OH·),which oxidize organic pollutants in wastewater into CO2,H2O and inorganic salts, etc. This article reviewed several AOPs technologies with practical prospects. It was found that the researches on AOPs were mainly focused on reducing costs and energy consumption. Moreover, multiple AOPs composite treatments technologies and AOPs composite traditional treatments technology will be a direction for large-scale industrial application.
