Advances in RNA-cleaving DNAzyme for biomedical field
RNA-cleaving DNAzyme(RCD)is a type of single-stranded DNA with catalytic activity, which has many advantages such as flexible programmability, excellent stability, strong substrate specificity, and high catalytic activity. Therefore,it has shown potential application in the field of biomedicine.Because of its selectivity on specific cofactors and recognition and cleavage of target RNAs,RCD is widely used in the detection of a range of biological molecules and gene therapy for various clinical diseases. This review introduces the physicochemical properties of RCD,summarizes its current research status in the biomedical field, and focuses on the application progress of RCD in biosensing and cancer treatment. In addition, the challenges and future development in this field are discussed.
