Plasmon-induced transparency effect of flexible terahertz metasurface
In recent years, the terahertz micro/nano-photonics research group of Shanghai Normal University has carried out a series of research work on the terahertz(THz)plasmon-induced transparency(PIT)using planar metamaterials, which attract highly attention by domestic and international counterparts. This review-paper introduces a variety of PIT phenomena by changing the spatial symmetry of the electromagnetic resonance unit,so as to manipulating the group delay of the terahertz pulse and obtain the slow light effect in the terahertz band.It was combined with the spatial symmetry breaking theory in plane geometry as well as the electromagnetic duality in physics. The major contribution includes:PIT effect via the interaction between dark-and-dark resonators,PIT effect taking place in a three-body system,PIT from a resonator Lorentzian oscillator interference with a Fano-resonator,PIT effect from a resonator interference with its own complementary structure,Maximization of the polarization insensitive THz slow light.Aforementioned works pay a way to the innovations on fundamental physics of terahertz PIT effect.
