Analysis of urine iodine results of children in Qingpu area from 2020 to 2023
By analyzing the monitoring results of urinary iodine among 8-10 year old children in Qingpu District,Shanghai from 2020 to 2023,we explores the changing trend of children's iodine nutrition status,providing scientific basis and theoretical support for the scientific adjustment of iodine deficiency disease prevention and intervention strategies in Qingpu District.According to the requirements of the National iodine deficiency disorders surveillance program,a total of 803 urine iodine monitoring results were collected from children aged 8-10 years old.At the same time,salt samples were collected from all surveyed subjects'homes to detect iodine content,and the thyroid volume of children was measured using B-ultrasound method.The results showed that for the residents of Qingpu District,Shanghai from 2020 to 2023,the median mass fraction of iodine in edible salt was 25.65 mg·kg-1(quartilesis were 7.54-28.55 mg·kg-1),the qualified rate of iodized salt was 88.4%,the coverage rate of iodized salt was 65.0%,and the consumption rate of qualified iodized salt was 57.3%.The median urinary iodine mass concentration of children was was 199.25 µg·L-1(quartilesis were 129.20-308.22 μg·L-1).The incidence of thyroid enlargement in children was 1.2%.The iodine nutrition level of children aged 8-10 in Qingpu District is at an appropriate level.However,it is still necessary to continue monitoring iodine deficiency disease.
