Constructing Shanghai as a globally influential science and technology innovation center promoted by China International Import Expo
China International Import Expo(CIIE)is currently the first exhibition in the world that focuses on imported goods,providing the support and impetus for construction of Shanghai as an international science and technology innovation center with global influence.In order to quantitatively analyze and assess the positive effects of CIIE in promoting innovation,we conducted empirical research by using the double-difference method based on data from 835 listed companies in seven provinces and cities during the period of 2015-2023.The research shows that hosting CIIE has significantly promoted the scientific and technological innovation capacity of Shanghai enterprises and effectively improved their scientific and technological innovation level.The convening of CIIE has led to an increase of about 10％in the number of patent applications by Shanghai listed companies.The article used two different methods to verify the scientific validity of the conclusion.
