摘要
过去20年来,收入不平等加剧问题一直是各国经济政策制定者面临的重要挑战之一.技术进步被广泛认为是影响收入不平等的关键因素.采用Meta分析方法对14篇关于技术进步对收入不平等影响的实证研究进行编码统计,共得到222个影响估计量,并对各文献中技术进步和收入不平等的衡量方法、数据来源、模型设定、控制变量进行分类编码,研究技术进步对收入不平等的总体平均效应以及不同文献之间的异质性.研究发现:在这一领域存在明显的正向发表偏倚,修正发表偏倚后技术进步总体上是缓和收入不平等的,但作用非常小;考虑了文献的异质性后技术进步显著加剧了收入不平等.其中偏向型技术进步相较于其他类型技术进步,对收入不平等的加剧作用更为显著;采用高低技能工人收入差距衡量收入不平等得到的加剧效应更为显著;采用的数据集的年份越近,反映的技术进步对收入不平等的影响越小.
Abstract
The rise in inequality in most countries over the past two decades is one of the biggest challenges facing economic policymakers in both developed and developing countries.Several economists see technological progress as a key factor in income inequality.Therefore,this paper attempts to study the impact of technology on income inequality through Meta-analysis.This paper collected 14 articles that met specific criteria and obtained 222 estimators from them.Then,it classified and coded the measurement of technology and inequality,data sources,model setting and control variables of different research to study the overall mean effect of technology on income inequality and the heterogeneity among different studies.Firstly,there is a positive publication bias in this field,and after correcting for publication bias technological progress generally moderates income inequality,but the effect is very small.Secondly,it is found that technological progress significantly increases income inequality after considering the heterogeneity of different studies,and there is an obvious positive publication bias.Thirdly,Skill-biased Technical has the greatest positive impact on income inequality.Fourthly,using wage gape of skilled workers as a measure of income inequality yields even greater results.Lastly,the newer the data set used,the smaller the impact of technology on income inequality reflected by the data set.
