As one of the most economically active regions in China,the integration process of the Yangtze River Delta(YRD)is of great significance to the overall economic growth of the country.By exploring the impact of institutional innovation on the economic integration of YRD region in China,based on the theoretical framework of new institutional economics and applying the fixed-effects model to analyze the panel data of three provinces and one municipality in the YRD region,the study delves into matters of how institutional innovations including policy reforms and regulatory adjustments have contributed to the promotion of GDP growth,investment flow,and trade coordination within the region.The results show that institutional innovation has significantly promoted the economic integration of the Yangtze River Delta region,especially in improving the investment efficiency within the region.The findings not only emphasize the central role of institutional innovation in promoting regional integration,but also provide specific practices and strategies that can be drawn upon for future economic policy formulation.These findings provide theoretical and empirical support for the deepening reform in the YRD region and help guide the future policy direction to ensure high-quality and sustainable economic development.
