Direct Determination of Free Acrylamide Content in Emulsion for Water-borne Coatings by Gas Chromatography
The gas chromatography method for direct determination of free acrylamide content in emulsion for water-borne coatings was established. After methanol extraction, acrylamide in the sample was separated by DB-WAX chromatography column, detected by hydrogen flame ionization detector, and quantified by internal standard method. The results showed that the standard working curve exhibits a good linear relationship with acrylamide content in the range of 2-100 μg/mL.The correlation coefficient is greater than 0.999 9.The recovery rate is between 96.46%and 101.13%.The relative standard deviation(RSD)is less than or equal to 3.0%.The detection limit of the method is 1.3 mg/kg.The quantitative limit is 4.3 mg/kg.The measurement range is 1.3-500 mg/kg.The method has the advantages of simple operation, accurate data and low detection limit. It provides a practical method for the determination of free acrylamide in emulsion for water-borne coatings.
