During the synthesis process of diethyl maleate,a byproduct called diethyl 2-ethoxysuccinate is generated.When refining and purifying diethyl maleate,this byproduct will accumulate in the bottom material of the reactor(tower)and form a distillation tailings mainly composed of diethyl maleate and diethyl 2-ethoxysuccinate.This part of the tailings not only cannot be directly sold to generate economic benefits,but also needs to be treated as hazardous waste for environmental protection,which results in additional environmental treatment cost.Polyaspartate ester resin and coatings were prepared with the diethyl maleate tailings containing diethyl 2-ethoxysuccinate.The practical actions were taken to actively respond to the national policy of building a waste recycling system.It will achieve the effect of reducing cost and increasing efficiency.
