Analysis of registered mental disorder patients in the community in Fengcheng Community of Shanghai
Objective:To understand the epidemiological characteristics of registered mental disorder patients in Fengcheng Community,Shanghai and provide a basis for further community prevention and treatment work.Methods:Three hundred and seventy-five patients with mental disorders registered before December 31,2022 were analyzed,among them there were 163 males and 212 females,and the average age was(58.24±13.29)years old.Results:Among 375 registered patients with mental disorders,42.9%were schizophrenics,40.3%were mental retardation,5.1%were bipolar disorder,0.3%were schizoaffective disorder,and 11.4%were other mental disorders.There were statistically significant differences in the distribution of time(in the past 5 years),region,and population(P<0.05);there were statistically significant differences in the distribution of education level and marital status among the three main mental disorders(P<0.05).Conclusion:Prevalence rate of mental disorders in the elderly in the Fengcheng Community,Shanghai is high.Schizophrenia and mental retardation are the main types of severe mental disorders in the community;education level of junior high school or above in schizophrenics accounted for the highest proportion(60.9%).Illiterate and semi illiterate in mental retardation accounted for the highest proportion(76.2%),early detection,diagnose,and treatment should be carried out to strengthen proactive community intervention to promote patients'recovery.
